"While not in the actual book, author J. K. Rowling gives additional information about the characters in an interview. Harry and Ron are both aurors, with Harry as the department head, while Hermione is "very high up" in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Rowling also mentions that Luna Lovegood has become a naturalist of sort, searching the world for odd and unique creatures. At Hogwarts there is a new permanent Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, since the jinx Voldemort placed on it is broken. There is also a new headmaster, although Rowling did not say who either of these characters were.
