That's a bad example to give lol. The body continues to live even after the Dementor's kiss. A zombie like form I think.
The first time Voldemort died .. he lost his body. His soul was preserved in in 6 separate places he knew about and the 7th part was in Harry, as I have always said. He continued to live even without a body because his soul still existed in this world.
