Snape's value as a member of the Order rest entirely on the fact that he is a spy. His value is that only a handful of people know where his true loyalties lie. If Voldemort was accessing Harry's mind at the time and Snape is a member of the Order and Harry saw solid evidence that he was, Voldemort could then know Snape was not on his side.
