I gave up trying to argue wtih people about the Patil twins cause nobody would ever listen to me(on another site). In the GoF, both of them go strolling through the Gryffindor common room when Harry asks them to go to the ball and nobody seemed to realize that one of them wasn't supposed to be there....i wish they'd quit messing with little details like that.
