Maybe the character that JK was referring to hasn't even died yet. I mean, putting myself in her place, she's up to her eyeballs in book 7 at the moment, so maybe she killed a character at the start of book 7 but managed to bring them back. Trying to see it from her perspective, if she had always planned on killing off that one, then suddenly had a change of heart, she might toss us that comment and have some personal satisfaction in letting us fret it.

One more thing. I agree that Harry lost out on very important skills by not learning Occlumency and Legillimency, but I don't think he's going to learn them at all. DD would've been his best chance at honing these skills to even an amateur level, but who else is there to teach him, now? I don't believe that Harry will have time for learning any more major magic. His protective power (from the Dursley's house) will be ending, on or around his birthday. JK hasn't said how this will happen, if it fades or stops all at once. But, the time line of the story leaves off at the end of term, June. So, Harry has, roughly, a month to get to the Dursley's house, then, back to the Burrow for Bill and Fleur's wedding, then he said he'd visit Godric's Hollow, plus he's still got to find those Horcruxes. That seems like an awful lot to accomplish, and I'm sure, even with that much, JK has to be tying up loose ends along the way, answering the questions she's led us to ask for the past six books. It seems like JK would need to write at least four more books just to end this properly ( though I wish she would write a dozen more!).

Nicely put! Although, it would not be impossible to bring Sirius back. Personally I hope she does I can think of someways that would make sense and even if she does not Ill have my imaginations. but allways stick to the base line of the adventure. I do believe he could be an asset to Harry in the last book because didn't Dumbledor tell Harry that Love was the power that the Dark Lord had not? Who did he love most, Sirius gave him a sense of belonging he looked up to him and he was the closest thing to his parents that he ever had. I don't believe Harry would be so shocked of his return that he would be incapable of fulfilling the prophecy. He needs as much love and happiness as he could get to use it in some way against Lord Valdimort and Sirius would definitely boost his moral. Witch brings me to Ginny its known that he loves her too, so letting her go would never change his love even if there not together. Valdimort is only blocking him out of his mind who's to say he won't use that connection again he's already don it once he would see Harry's love for her no matter what so its just wasted time if anything were ever to happen to her. Now in Dumbledor's office there were the painting's of all the past headmaster's and headmistress's Harry even saw the new one of Dumbledor on the wall after he died and he was snoozing. All those paintings could talk and understand a true reflection of there physical selves why couldn't Harry or anyone else for that matter still communicate with him. Dumbledor could still share his thoughts and feelings on what Valdimort might be up to and help give Harry ideas on were the last Horcruxes might be. So I truly believe Dumbledor is not quite out of the picture Although I cried when he died. Maybe Harry finds out who R.A.B is and he's already destroyed the rest of the Horcruxes. It would make sense if the 7th book does answer all our questions it would be less that she would have to go into and leave more room for the battle ,I don't know, there is so many ways it could go shes such and excellent writer I'm sure she wont let us down. I cant wait for the last book! Although it would be nice for an 8th book just to see what Harry becomes after life with out Lord Valdimort. But that's probably pushing it. Anyway I look forward to any new adventures she might come up with after Harry Potters over. Her style of writing is intransitive. Its late i'm going to bed thank you for listing to my ramblings
