It's a thin line between genius and insanity.
First, there's the problem of being misunderstood. Small-minded people tend to assume that anything they don't understand is stupid. Wrap your mind around that paradox and try to stay sane. (And then look at who we've got for a President -- people just feel more comfortable with someone they understand. Not that he was properly elected by the majority, but he got enough real votes to steal the rest.)
Then there's the problem of having no one in your league to talk to. When you do get stuck on a really dumb idea, there's no one to bring you back because they're all idiots who don't even understand where you've gone.
