In book six, Dumbledore tells Harry, that with the failure to acquire the D.A.D.A. position, Voldermort cursed the position, so that ever since, no one has ever held the position more than a single year. So, knowing this, wouldn't there be some particular reason that Dumbledore would give it to Snape? And what would that reason be. In the books we are told that Snape has always desired the DA.D.A position. Why would he? Does he not believe in the curse? Or does he think he can defeat it? It seems very intentional. What reason would there be for intentionally putting (or taking) someone into a cursed position? Is it relevant to the nature of Snape/Dumbledore and the ultimate outcome of the plot?
