Voldy splits his soul and it doesn't appear to have changed his character only his physical appearance; Dumby says he appeared less human as the years went by. Don't know what this says about our relationship between body and soul but that isn't really the issus here. The issues for me is how do you make a horcrux (if it's a matter of a simple, softly spoken spell then I reckon Godric's sword IS a horcrux- this explains Voldy's weird visit to dumby in the headmasters office) , how many can you make (what's to stop Voldy making heaps when he discovers that Harry's out destroying them) and if Voldy tries to make any morewill he end up looking like Nagini?
