I know you know this. I'm just trying to get it right in my head:
When Voldy says "I was ripped from my body" I kinda assumed it meant 'I' equals 'the soul' (what's left of it) was ripped from his body. 'It'/shattered person, went off and lived a weird kinda spectral exsistance (lesser than a ghost because at least they have their dearly departed souls intact), a shadowy nothing with only 2/7ths of his soul. But, this assumes that 'I'='soul' As you very cleverly suggest, what is a 'part of a soul' and, as you ask, does part of it 'detatch' when you murder???
Is the construction of a Horcrux dependant on a murder or on a spell cast afterwards??
What is a soul and what is our relationship with it???
Is a soul our conscience, our morals, or faith, our character/sense of self or even our consciousness???
What is Voldy missing by spliting his soul? He has all his facualties; he can maintain physical form; he can continue to split his soul, so what is a soul do you thnk??? In an HP not a theological sense of course
Why stop at 7?
If Voldy can't feel them after they are split anyway, what's the difference in creating 6 or a 1000 Horcruxes?? |
