Two options:

"Quick Reply" which is on the bottom right hand side

or

"Add reply" which should be near there. Sometimes there isn't a quick reply button though.

Usually, I use the Quick Reply whenever possible .. maybe that's just because I'm lazy .. i dunno .. lol

And about getting it when someone replies, you're just going to have to keep checking.
