He lived in France and lived from 1330 to 1418, and was 88-years old when he died. In the 1400s living to be 88-years old was an extremely long time.

I don't know, I haven't read the story yet, but the story might tell you. I'm going to bet he is, because there is info on him, and there isn't info on every living person from a long time ago.
