Do we want a Hollywood ending to the books and the good survives or a battle to the end of both?

Do we want mimick of reality? And the evil fades, yet is not completely gone. The good grows stronger to overcome the evil?

Harry's two main conflicts in the stories are man versus man and man versus self. It comes down to him knowing he has to face Voldemort and yet he is not alone in doing so - he has friends and supporters though he needs to be strong. Everyone thought Voldemort died once before yet he returned - this time he has to die, right? Will he be turned in by a Death Eater? Will Snape come to the rescue? Will Voldemort do what other despots in real life have done and kill himself so he will not be caught?
