Snape does make sense as a partner but it would seem unlikely that he would have the requisite ingredients hidden in his robes and as has been shown in previous books powerful potions usually take time to brew. Maybe the person knew to expect a potion and had a bezoar on hand to handle the problem. Because I can't imagine Voldemort allowing himself to be reliant on a second person to help him when he went to retrieve the item.
